Why is a brand’s cell empty in a market?
The table shows each engine’s published top 20 per market. An empty cell means the brand is not in that top 20 — it may still be named, just less often than the brands above it.
Can I compare mention rates across different markets?
Only with care. Every market has its own question set and its own number of competing brands, so a lower rate in a crowded market can be a stronger position than a higher rate in a concentrated one. Compare brands within a market; across markets, compare places, not rates.
Where do the questions in this dataset come from?
From the way people actually shop each category: recommendation, comparison and problem-first questions, 346–400 per market. The set is fixed for a measurement, so every brand in a market is judged on the same questions.
